Straight Dil Se...
I have superhuman powers,
Warmth and consideration are my traits,
I am a loving and caring mommy.
Benevolent and tolerant, is it me?
I make a silly mistake that repeats often,
Rough is my title countless times,
I fancy being the model of perfection,
Eager to praise my kids all the time,
I am opportunistic undeniably,
My concepts may be wrong,
Look, my intentions are honest.
Do you think it's a simple task,
To play a modern-age mom?
I had zero interest in painting,
Throughout my school,
Even disliked coloring to some sort.
I got to draw along with my toddlers,
To prepare them for school admissions.
I had to think of innovative ideas,
To make school projects.
I had to speak English at home,
To make my kid's spoken dialect strong.
I used to sound like a stern educator,
It was really hard,
To be a mom in the modern era.
A mom was born at the exact moment,
My children came to this world.
I had no experience in child care,
Books and Practicals were not identical.
I had to be awake till late at night;
Never could watch movies,
But to feed my babies.
I had to update myself continuously,
Be it news or fashion trends.
I am tiring out quickly, even after rest,
Maybe time for women's Horlicks.
I strived hard to be a supermom.
It was tough to search for new b'day ideas,
Scanning for return gifts every year,
Which had to be in sync with b'day themes.
I learned to cook continental dishes.
To teach my kids a foreign language,
I had to teach myself in the first place.
I was afraid of failure,
Was it for them or me?
With determination, I learned to drive,
To ferry my children almost every day,
From sports to music class.
Who said motherhood was simply bliss?
Has anyone seen the struggle behind it?
Being a mother is an endless journey,
It's not the last destination.
Mixing up priorities was funny at times,
I had fiery outbursts once in a while,
I had to extinguish the fire within,
By dipping my feet in pools.
I studied child psychology,
Spent sleepless nights,
To manage their behavioral pattern,
To follow my kids' emotional quotient,
In the end, I am still a sweet mom.
I celebrate mom's day round the clock,
It's open 24*7 throughout the year.
I love my children more than my freedom.
I get power like a tigress to maul baddies,
Forever there to shield my kids.
Get strength from within,
To finish a chore related to them.
I am a mom elated beyond words,
But I am a modern age, Mother,
Ever ready to grow further!
