Sight

I only wanted to rest in peace

Leave the agony and distress behind

The dull and aching body, the life so meaningless

Night after night, a gentle, daily reminder

As I could only see not hear or speak

I only wanted to lie down in peace.

A deafening silence in my room all around

Piercing through my body untouched

It tried to take hold of my soul

but my motionless gestures displayed

To eyes that can only behold.

I only wanted the doors to be shut

The curtains to be drawn

In a strange manner only I could see

I preserve my memories in them

A piece of my existence is still alive in my eyes

Eyes that can hear or speak or work for me now

The light that is my only companion 

Oblivion, stupefaction!!!
