Shrink the Ache
Shrink the Ache
[Prompt : “There’s hurt here, that cannot be fixed by Band-Aids or Poetry”. ]
Before taking you all to my short poem, let me provide you a small context. A broken heart or an afraid soul can not be mended by the shine of the worldly artifacts. It does not wish to listen to momentary talks, put trust on to short promises. The only sunshine that can glaze up their life is the warmth and togetherness of a person who can listen to their heart more than they can.
The smile on her face is pretty,
Yet her eyes lack the spark.
She gazes at the blooming evening primrose
Closing her eyes she recaptures the wind blowing away its petals,
And she shivers….
The pain inside transpires!
Fright has swamped over her hopes
Yes, She wants to speak something
Her bosom ventilates none will understand.
She wants to cry loud,
But her tear drops have iced up
Her heart has gone numb.
She thrives to believe in colors,
However, she has seen the rain washing the tinge away.
You won’t hear the clink of her outcry
It’s a Gordian knot which can only be felt!
Is she looking for something,
Is she looking for someone,
She does not know
She wants to drive that notion away.
Yet deep inside,
She wishes for someone to lift her out of the dark room.
Someone to walk along
Someone to hold on
Someone she can lean on
Someone to walk back to
Someone whose arms can calm her
Someone whom she can trust!
