Short Lived Fears

Short Lived Fears

Dark dreary night

I sat there in fright

Lonely, silent and gloomy

None could see my plight

Deep in my thoughts

Flooding me ever more with draughts

I wasn't always like this

Times were there full with bliss

Beloved near, laughter and cheers

Family close and so were peers

A weak smile adorned my face

Happiness around and no race

The brain is stormy but the heart is hollow

Alone I sat and no one to follow

Came a shadow and sudden cry

Came a 'vulture' as if to grill or fr

y

Ran a shrill over my spine

Oh God! Come upon me & shine

A burning desire to run and hide

But no thick tree or cave behind

Horrendous shadows, shrill noise

Trying to cry but chocked my voice

Deep within the still, a Hope Survives

For bereaved like me, The Help arrives

Lo! He heard my deepest sigh

Soon I saw an angel high

A ray of hope shining bright

Childlike body and wings in flight

Soon disappeared the darkest sorrows

'Vulture' was shot dead with the angel's arrows.
