Shattered

Shattered

Writhing in pain,

She cried in vain

Called his name time and again.

Tears dropped,

Memories flashed

Mouth ajar,

Gasping for breath.

A dream to end,

A life to recede

Feelings to dry but heart to bleed.

She called herself,

She ought to die

To free her soul from guilt and lie.

Closed her eyes one last time

And left the world in sense sublime.
