Serendipity

Serendipity

I was passing by a banyan tree,

I was stressed and was trying to feel relaxed and free.

I came under the shade of banyan,

And was enjoying the calm - away from the sun's dominion.

It was a summer's burning afternoon,

My throat started feeling thirsty very soon.

How unfortunate was I to forget my water-pot at home,

There was none to quench my thirst, I was feeling all alone.

All of a sudden, there came a lady.

Tired she looked, though she was very pretty.

An angel sent here for my savage,

She had a water-pot; I asked for water and practiced my privilege.

Thanking her, I started exchanging word.

She did not hesitate, our chat carried forward.

Suddenly the sky got over-casted with cloud,

Then came the rain and it was thundering loud.

She felt scared of the thunderbolt,

Soon my arm got grabbed in her tight fold.

It kept raining for an hour or more,

Her relatives had already called her three times before.

She was getting late sitting there,

She was not carrying her umbrella - about what she was unaware.

What a Serendipity - I carried my umbrella with me,

I will accompany her, about which she did agree.

We talked a lot, became close to each other.

She reached her home, I got a thank from her father.

He invited me for a family meet,

I was, for me, a great treat.

Suddenly came a Tempest, turning me grim.

I had fallen down from my bed to realize it to be a Mid-summer Night's dream.
