One might say. The #1 representative
Of what we term Western Philosophy
His contributions echo through the ages
One of his formulations was
The Theory of Forms, or
The Theory of Ideas
In Plato’s view of the world
Our existence is a poor approximation
Of what it could be; that “somewhere”
[beyond time and space] there is a place
Where there exists the perfect and only example
Of everything. An IDEA very much at variance
With our own. Why do we seek Plato?
Why do we care what he thought?
If he is/was correct; maybe we should.
