SEEDS OF TEMPTATION
SEEDS OF TEMPTATION
The heart is a garden, lush and green,
Where seeds of virtue and vice are sown.
The temptations that we face each day
Determine which plants will grow and stay.
Some seeds are sown with care and love,
Nurtured by wisdom from above.
They are watered with diligence,
And grow to bear fruits in abundance.
Other seeds are sown in haste,
Nurtured by boundless whims.
They are watered with neglect,
And grow to bear bitter fruits of regret.
The temptations to incline to evil
Are all around, disguised as good.
They whisper lies that sound so true,
And lead us down a path we rue.
The temptations to incline to good
Are also near, and just as real.
They urge us on to do what's right,
And lead us to a life of light.
Choose the seeds we sow,
With wisdom, love, and care.
Nurture them with diligence,
And reap the fruits that are fair.
