Seasons Of Love
Seasons Of Love

There is a tattoo
At the nape of my neck
Of dandelions blowing
I got it inked right after
We met on spring day
As a souvenir of the love
That had sprung from
Our yearning for each other.
You said flowers didn't
Always bloom, so I had to
Smell them before they fade
Just like our love.
So throughout summer,
I let the odour fill my nose
The colour engrave my mind
And at nights, I glowed
Like a firefly searching for her mate
Letting the warmth fill my soul.
You'll be surprised
If I tell you of the things
I metaphorized our love with
Right now, it's a maple leaf
Trying hard to stay
But falling down incessantly
An indication of autumn
And our diminishing love.
We survived this till now
But tragedy has hit us
There are dead trees all around
Waiting to be wrapped in snow
Like our love pleading
To be draped in white
It's time you notice
That winter has come
And our love
Is no more alive.
