Rising Oceans

Rising oceans,  

A warming globe,  

Savage storms,  

A warning foretold...  

The icebergs weep,  

Their silence loud,  

Melting tears  

Form a restless crowd.  

Forests burn,  

The skies grow dim,  

Nature’s hymn  

Turns a mournful hymn.  

The rivers choke,  

The soil turns dry,  

Birds take flight  

Yet nowhere to fly.  

Cities tremble,  

The coasts retreat,  

Human pride  

Now tastes defeat.  

Children gaze  

At a fading dawn,  

Dreams of green  

Already gone.  

But hope still breathes,  

In hands that sow,  

Seeds of change  

Begin to grow.  

Together we rise,  

Together we stand,  

To heal the earth,  

And mend her land.
