Baby, your eyes may not have the same shine,

As you don’t carry the same genes as mine.

But, my heart is connected to yours

You were born out of the hearts of ours.

I might not have given you birth,

The bond we share is the strongest on earth.        

You may not carry our blood or bone,

Still, we call you our very own.

You were not in my tummy, ever

But, will be in my heart forever.

Family is not just the blood

The key is the emotional bond.

Adoption is a blessing indeed

We need you more, than your need.
