Perfection

A tear drops down my eye as I sit and write,

A thought arises and a part of my mind questions me,

"Am I perfect?" I ask myself and;

"No." Is what my mind replies.

The world today hunts for perfection,

The hunger for a perfect person,

Is the driving force for the change,

In the minds of millions.

Every move we make,

Every step we take,

We try to find perfection in them.

Human life has turned into a game,

Where every single person we meet;

Searches for 'THE MIGHTY PERFECTION' in us.

This search for perfection has led to a stress in the world,

As kids we were always told "Be yourself";

But as we grow up this changes to "Be perfect in everything".

People are afraid to be themselves,

Afraid to show their true colours;

From the clothes we wear to the smile on our face,

Everything we do, we try to be perfect.

People are hiding behind a screen,

Their fake perfect self standing out in the crowd.

How real is this search for perfection?

Is it worth the trouble?

Why do we have to change?

We never ask..

We are moving with the trend called 'PERFECTION'.

Our social media statuses read 'Perfect Person';

We need to learn to accept our imperfections,

Our flaws and scars define us.

Each and every part of us,

Defines us in a way we never know.

If every person is perfect then "what is our identity?"

We need to accept ourselves.

We need to learn that;

There is nothing greater than,

Our perfectly imperfect selves.

Be it what we all are perfect, in our perfectly imperfect ways...
