Pain

When pain befriended me,

It showed the true side of misery.

It said smiles were said to deceive,

While tears were never for the deceased.

I stayed quiet and listened   For the side I knew was a lie I couldn't believe.

Now it's the two of us side by side,

As I knew the truth I will never leave the pain behind.
