Only You

Only You

I’m always looking for the right words to say

You make me feel lost in my own hometown in the middle of the day,

You always say the right words right enough to tear me a little

Like a sculptor putting forth his imagination

By cutting down pieces, your art is a riddle.

Your right words are addictive and reminiscent

Although I know they are poisonous and impermanent

My broken words are irrelevant to you like the mumbles of madmen,

But don't you know? I'm not me anymore just made up of your fragments.

But then you smile at my stories sometimes and then I'm left indulging the euphoria from time to time

Only if you knew that every smile is a big crime.
