One Poem At A Time

One Poem At A Time

2 mins 5.1K 2 mins 5.1K

A poem's mayhem

Starts to disintegrate

And sinks deep down

Into oblivion

When the only person

It is meant for

Swallows the meaning

And spits

Nothingness

On the poet's face.

If you find a poem

Burning like a sun

Who has given in

To hostility

While turning the readers

Into ashes

Remember to not touch

For it looks a lot like

A person

Torn apart between two cities

Searching a home

Amidst the strangers.

A poem resides

Inside a violent old man

Sitting in his balcony

Judging the movement of

The world

As his own steps

Led him somewhere

He never wanted to go

The only thing he earned

Was experience

Obtained as a by-product.

A poem is a tragedy

An earthquake shaking the skyscrapers

A flood uprooting the shelters

An untimely death

It is the scream

Of a person's consent

When the only thing

It gets is a

Bad touch.

A poem is a human

Devoid of this sinful skin

Left as a feeling

With no home to rest.
