Ode To Hypocrisy
Ode To Hypocrisy
You have won many hearts
Than one ever can,
By dint of your intriguing designs:
Tailored lies, illicit praise,
Compromising moral, obsessive self,
And tantalizing traps.
You have caused a hazardous havoc
Few would fathom. Alas! Fathom alone,
As little had you left to redress:
Broken hearts, bereaved relationships,
Estranged souls, and despaired lots.
You masochist! What pleasure
You seek in a transient win,
Against the invincible Truth
That no impervious veil can cover
But for a while.
Desert us you, deceitful devil
Before the next dawn,
Before the deleterious designs
Of your dogged disciples
Earn them, and you, an epitaph
That intimidates your posterity.
