New Normal ~ Stuck In A Zoom Meeting

New Normal ~ Stuck In A Zoom Meeting

Filth covers ink stains that have evaporated with memories

My school uniform is jailed in the closet for over a year,

My black shoes wail for the polish to brighten its old dusty surface

Rush to school is a feeling which was dissolved in morning coffees.

The fresh smell of chalk,

Ülker chocolate wrappers lying in my bag, having a walk on the school campus,

Seeing journals from last year makes me crave the feelings I left behind,

My aspirations were so fragile, accomplished were whispers of crickets on the early lavender night.

Once we got into the zoom meeting, the host admits you to a virtual platform

Chatbox is a world full of words without a voice, it’s like a fountain without water

It limits reactions; they display profile pictures like a smile to over the overwhelming stress

My curious mind ponders

What if my life turned into Jumanji?

What if I got stuck in a zoom meeting?

The nostalgia of ink stains will haunt me,

My reactions will be limited,

My voice could be muted,

What if someone spied on me?

What if black shoes chase me to the cliff to tell me that this is the new normal?

What if the chalk fades to a white screen and glitches’ till you are worn out?

A year passed in a blink what if it never ends, what if this is the new normal?
