My Mirror

Do not trust your mirror

For all it does is lie

It makes you think no one cares 

About what lies on the inside

It only shows you what is skin deep 

And not what lies under the covers 

You can't see how your lashes fall 

As you drift off to sleep 

It never shows how the world sees 

You when you are nothing but yourself

Or how you just light up 

When your eyes are filled with love 

It doesn't catch you smiling 

When no one else can see you 

Your reflection doesn't tell you 

How much you mean to me

So never trust the mirror

As it only shows your skin

And it can never dictate your worth

Because it has never seen

The angel that lies within...
