Musings
Musings
It’s an epidemic,
No, it’s a Pandemic!!
Shout one and all
From radios and rooftops
Today, it’s only
Virus this,
And Virus that.
Alas! no one comes out and says
Why is this,
And why is that?
We just rode along
The waves of life,
Not a beat we missed
For lives destroyed.
Never gave a thought,
How others survived
The plants and the animals,
That too on this planet thrived.
This is for me, and this is for mine,
To keep me happy, nothing’s a crime,
Some things I got, some I stole
Unknowing there is only so much I can hold!
In my race to be first,
I trampled and destroyed,
The very earth which gave me birth.
I poisoned the waters,
That would quench my thirst,
I polluted the air,
That lovingly had cared.
I have it all, I now felt,
The pot of gold is in my reach.
But alas! The sentence by the jury
With Mother Nature in full fury
They had a lesson to teach.
I have been humbled,
That too, by a Virus
Which I bloody well cannot SEE.
