Mother

Mother

2 mins 253 2 mins 253

Mother,

U love me from the time, I was within U…

I kicked U and U were in pain,

But, I was alive in U…

I would be a boon or bane,

U never had any clue…

U were just in fain,

Coz the days were very few…

And that’s why I tell…

U love me from the time, I was within U…

I cried coz it was too bright,

And saw different hues…

I was filled with fright,

To enter the world so new…

U held my hand tight,

And I got a better view…

And that’s why I tell…

U love me from the time, I was within U…

I took my first step,

Just to hold on to you…

U were full of pep,

“Maa” was my first word, true…

Then, I was sent to prep,

And that’s where I grew…

And that’s why I tell…

U love me from the time, I was within U…

You sent me out in the world,

With lots of fear in U…

You knew I would be hurled,

So, you stuck to me like glue…

And around U, I furled,

For my broken hopes to sew…

And that’s why I tell…

U love me from the time, I was within U…

There were times, when

I made a mistake or two…

And your eyes cried, then,

With floating drops of dew…

U corrected me now and then,

With the hints of cue…

And that’s why I tell…

U love me from the time, I was within U…

In the essence of your thoughts,

So well I grew…

Still trying to connect all the dots,

That, for me U drew…

Though there are knots,

Which I still need to undo…

And that’s why I tell…

U love me from the time, I was within U…

U nurtured me when I was in your womb,

Who pushed me from dark to light, ‘Twas you,

Helped me with every step, to bloom,

Who amended me on my flaws, ‘twas you,

One day, I too will be in your costume,

But, I know I can never be you…

And that’s why I tell…

U love me from the time, I was within U…
