Me
Me
I searched for me in my mirror
Something was amiss.
It’s not the old me
Yes, I’m older but not me.
The smile is not from my heart
The twinkle in my eyes missing
Receding hairline has not made me wiser
Though I had groomed well.
The warmth in my heart missing
Words don’t mean what I reveal
Feelings are not clothed in love
Every act is for a need.
Just an actor and not self
Have forgotten to be myself
World applauds actually not for me
But for living their expectation.
I was not so years ago
Smile, words & acts
Were in sync with my heart.
For there was no ME in any act.
The endless race in world
Shaped the ME more than myself
People around me pushed me
Be it family, friends or peer.
