Longing
Longing
He looked outside
Of his window
And reminisce about
His childhood.
How he used to
Pluck those green
Mangoes from the
Neighbor's tree.
How he was beaten
By his mother
For being naughty.
How he teased
His sister and
Fought with her.
How he cheated
In the game of ludo
With his friends.
There was a faint smile
On his lips
And a longing to
Visit those days again.
When life was simple
And he was a simple boy
With dreams in his eyes
And a determination
To achieve.
Now, he has achieved
Everything
But lost that simple boy
On the way.
He longed to be that
Carefree child again.
But this longing
Was just a dream
Which he can never
Fulfill
Because life goes on.
Neither it moves back
Nor remain still.
