Like A Warrior

Lost into the midst of city lights

I can witness just flashes 

From structures old and new.

The array seems to be insurmountable

That I fail to perceive

What is real

And what is not.

I become blind

I become deaf

And perhaps speechless,

As darkness befall upon me

I become numb

Like a paralysed and clueless matter.

Here I realise this moment

That I was at fault

Knowing not the fissures

Between the real and the unreal.

I turn over a new leaf

To rise up again

To fight against the predicaments 

Of life, living and relationships 

Just like a warrior

I'm grappling hard with the shield

Of my will to survive ...

Just like a warrior.
