Life Lessons Learnt

It's a thing told by a wise man, a brave one at that,

You'll know him when I say he's associated with being a bat,

"We mustn't touch what isn't ours",

Well....true, could repeat that in my head for hours,

Whatever others are, be honest, even in the most unfair wars,

Don't be corrupt, there's no happiness in your fancy cars,

As long as you didn't work for it with your own effort,

Dishonesty is pretty tempting, not gonna lie, pretty successful flirt,

But your conscience doesn't bend to all that, only your temporary enjoyment does,

It takes people away from you, to "You and I" from "Us",

You'll realize that you needed a person, only when you lose them,

They're everything after you leave, until you do, they're just phlegm,

Because you just spit at them when they show concern,

And cry your eyes out when you finally learn,

That they won't do it anymore, hypocrisy? Nah, helplessness,

I get it, it's hard to realize a guy's selflessness,

Problem with people like us, we care so much that it's not reflected,

So the more that happens, we cause it to be a little more deflected,

And once it's fully out of your radar, you'll never have it back, you're not far away,

From being completely ignored, we'll go so far without you, you'll be a star away,

And then you could spiral down the same lane again,

Crib about how much you received pain,

In life, what about the part where you gave it?,

To hell with the apologies when you don't mean it, just save it,

I used to cry at every single hurtful thing you said to me,

Just a punching bag to take your anger out on, that's what I was bred to be,

But no more of that, I'm gonna punch back harder than you do,

Don't play snakes and ladders with me, I'll play chess and defeat you in it too,

But enough of me ranting out about my bad luck,

It wasn't a choice I had, not my fault I got stuck,

In this hellhole, but the lessons I learnt from this are golden,

Still wish I knew about it, before my spot got stolen.
