Liberation of Two Beings

Liberation of Two Beings

“What a combination of earthly colours

The artist tells the tale of unearthly demons.”

It is a told story of ‘Vasundhara’ the consort of ‘Varaha’,

The gatekeeper of the Lord was incarnated as ‘Hiranyaksha’

He was no good but a demon with all his fierce as a savage,

What a resolute he was as he made his mind for earth ravage.

Blessed and promised he was to be invulnerable forever

And so how he would prove the strength ever

The mighty demon departed from his 'mansion'

Pushed the defenceless ‘Bhumi’ to the cosmic ocean.

Neither God, not man, nor even beast could touch

Don’t forget his prowess and might was such.

The deep-slumbered Omnipresent was awakened

A man-boar was born to have the Mother Earth chastened.

The conditions of the demon’s end were fulfilled

As he was booned, Hiranyaksha was slain and killed.

On this day of Satyuga, two Beings were redeemed–

’Hiranyaksha’ was blessed with a divine death and ‘Vasundhara’ was restored.

This is the legend sung in Bhagvata Purana

It is Rare now to retell this in my way of telling.
