Let me break the sturdy walls of pride

with a strong dose of humility

allow some fresh air

a modest chunk of wisdom in

Like winter's languor

pride engulfs miles of living

sans an iota of respite

greater sense meanders

loses sheen and wanders

Let me embrace meekness

before it descends to tame

trailing silhouettes

for pride often denudes

core of composure

lands souls in disgrace 

Invites wrath and discomfiture

Like a tree laden with fruits 

that bends to yield to greedy souls

let me learn to be all giving 

be a part of humbling experience

out stretch my sphere of nobleness

Let me soak body and soul

In sublime love

serve humanity with utter humility

alleviate other's burden

pride and arrogance often walk together

l better be away from such vices

remain tuned to the vivid sparks of modesty forever.
