Lessons From Loss
Lessons From Loss
Life teaches us the art of letting go,
It’s just the process that hurts!
Wish there were a six-sigma optimized path,
That could reduce all unwanted emotional wastage –
While preserving all our needs and wants!
So, as the circus unravels with each passing day, you realize –
That destruction and creation are just the two sides of the same coin,
Tossed on the pitch of this Universe alike,
But felt strongly by us mortal beings, which pleasantly some call consciousness,
I call it a surprising kink to the dull lifeless sandcastle, built on the beach of desire
And then you meet the agents of transformation,
Who oblige you by delivering your destined sufferings, thus jolting you out,
Forcing you to travel back to that daily unpleasant routine,
While your castle of hope, “logically” modelled wi
th regression on a dataset of comfort,
Gets devoured in the cruel tides of merciless time.
One by one, as each star that you knew in your life, starts getting eclipsed –
In memories, as they ever painfully exist, but mortally impossible to find...
You start realizing how futile this life is!
And that destruction and death doesn’t sound an approaching alarm –
Before you struggle to stop your breath from escaping your lifeless castle walls!
So, the start and end dates of the game remain oblivious to us!
As fools, with continuous hope – as we try timing the game with our castle’s tenure
Lucky are some, for whom the opportunity meets their preparedness, in this funny tug-of-war,
While some crib over life’s brutal lessons,
Too lazy to squeeze out the lemon to help themselves with a glass of soda-lime!
