Laziness

Laziness

"Kukdoo ku..." sounds my alarm.

"Not so early, I just slept!"

I snooze it for five minutes.

"Why in the morning are classes kept?"

"Kukdoo ku..." I hear again.

"Oh just shut up!" I shout.

"Sure it will a hundred times

But you will be late for exam no doubt."

I open my eyes to see my mother

Standing at the door with folded arms.

"Pack your bags, we are sending you to

Become a peasant and plough the farms."

I jump off my bed

And rush towards the table.

The timetable says it's chemistry today.

"I am an idiot," myself I label.

And then it begins again

The morning madness of not getting late.

I pick my phone and call my friend

"Are you already there mate?"

"The exam starts in half an hour

Where do you think you are?"

In full speed I brush my teeth.

"It seems I will have to run that far."

Without taking a shower I change my clothes

And rush outside the house.

My mother calls from behind, "Wait,

Seems like you are scared of a mouse

You have forgotten to carry your stationary

Will you write with your bare hands?"

I take it from her and hurry to catch a bus

"I hope I find it on the stands."

Only God can save me now

From missing this exam.

A little bit of laziness and it seems

Like I am sinking in a dam.
