Last Evening of Summer
Last Evening of Summer
Barefoot sprints across the ground
Ice cream melting all over the palms
Children playing cricket at dusk
Lazy days for writers
Gentle breeze from pines
Moving the wind chimes
Making a smooth, tingling sound
Amber shades painted the sky
Sandalwood aroma fills the neighborhood
Soft chirps of birds along with
buzzing drone of cicadas from the fields
And somewhere inside, I felt summer waving goodbye
