Jupiter and Mars

So close, yet so far,

You and me, like Just and Mars.

Stood beside one another once,

Now chose different paths,

So are moving very slowly apart,

You and me, like Jupiter and Mars.

You know I love you, I do,

And I know what's in your heart,

But you chose and so did I

Now we walk away, Jupiter and Mars.

Chose what's better for us, yes

Now I sit alone, late hours.

Better, but it hurts me,

That you are Jupiter, I am Mars.

So close, yet so far,

You and me, like Jupiter and Mars.

But know that I think of you,

Know that I care,

Don't know the distance how I bear

Between Jupiter and Mars.

But one day when the stars are lucky,

And both our planets align

I will look at you and smile and wave

And hope you're waving too.

And I will think we're not too far,

We're close enough, Jupiter and Mars.
