It’s A Long Journey
It’s A Long Journey
I’m the bird who has always been around
Despite the wings, to fly to places unbound,
I’ve kept my watch like a bloodhound.
But today,
I think of those who chose to fly
With no wings,
But they did try
And I,
The queerest of all
Was the most to appall.
Too wary to leave the skin in which I breed
Knowing it’s just me, I have to feed.
I was told that
The brave might not live forever
And I laughed at those sleighing the sky
Thinking they all await their fall
Not knowing,
It was me
Who hasn’t lived at all.
With no dusk at the heaven’s bay
I think it’s me who has a little more to seek
For the world is too big and I so bleak
To all the paths that are to stray.
