If you believe that you aren't making a difference

When you put your pen to paper

Your brush on the canvas

Your limbs swinging to the sky

Your wings unfolding with expression

Go on. Believe it.

No one can convince you otherwise.

But walk to a dam

And watch the water sitting inside

In peace, rising up and down

In different seasons, like breath

Walk upstream

And watch the first insignificant trickle of water

Dripping impatiently

The multitudes of trickles and drops joining in

To form a flood

To change landscapes, to build families

To flood and destruct, to feed life.

Art is war and war is art.

Changing, breaking, building,

Painting, expressing, flooding

Even if you do not believe it.

So go ahead.

Just don't stop.
