The Power You Possess

If only I knew what the future held,

If only they knew how it felt,

If only I had enough courage to fight back,

But alas the very strength I lacked.

The demons that haunted me,

The demons that humiliated me,

The demons that giggle with glee,

Making a fool out of me.

The voices within me finally raged,

No longer could I be trapped in this cage,

And that is when I realised that my world is my stage,

And I weld the ink to fill every one of its page.

I have to decide, weather to stay silent or react.

And if I react, will I be able to impact?

I chose the way of words, expressing my sorrow, speaking louder with every sentence.

Every letter escaping my mouth boosts my confidence.

In my power I confide,

And to my surprise, the bullies subside.

All you have to do is raise a voice.

A voice so loud, that every word that you speak makes you proud.

Let the thunder shake the ground,

As you finally regain with peace the respect you always deserved.

Because no matter what one says,

You will be the best version of yourself, always.
