If Only

If only I might make a change with a rhyme

I'd gladly sit down and give it some time

With a pen in my hand

A tear in my eye

I'd write it all out, at least I would try

I'd cry every letter,

sweet song of a bird

Sing it aloud till I formed every word

With pen in my hand and a tear in my heart

I'd scribble it down, that's how I would start

I'd convince all the rich to give to the poor

I'd feed all the hungry and end every war

Fight for world justice, equality 

Across the whole earth, everyone would live free

Just a man with a poem, that burns with a sting

I'm no President, nor am I King

If I just had the chance then I certainly would

I'd help change the world itf only I could
