If Luck Be Changed
If Luck Be Changed
He basked in riches
Proud and unconcerned.
Boasting his glory
And banknotes to all
Who would listen. His
Manor stood grandly
With a red sports car
Affront while he preached
Not willing to be
Grateful and thoughtful
Of those on the streets
Hoping and praying
For their next meal. Would
He be kind and seek
To help? Or would he
Loss all to gloating?
The boy who's hunting
Through garbage bags and
Bins could take his place
If luck be to changed.
