If I Was Not Put In A Cage
If I Was Not Put In A Cage
If I was not put in a cage,
I would have written my story on a longer page.
But it was not so,
My story was as small as a finger toe.
Knees in a hole with the love of
I had a dream,
To go, run, flow carefree as a 1 to my stream.
But it was not so,
I regret i could not properly grow.
I desired to achieve everything thing I wanted,
Seeing me playing cricket, my mother taunted,
You are a girl so beware,
Woman like Mithali Raj, PV Sindhu, my mother wasn't aware.
I wanted to pursue sports,
Playing marvellously in courts,
But it was not so,
I could not take the courage to grow.
Don't play anything-were the words of m
y mother,
All the independence was given to the undeserving brother,
Learn all household chores,
And lock yourself in a husbands' door.
This was the fate of my life,
Instead of a bat or racket, I had a knife.
That hand could have done wonders,
But people in this world only like blunders.
I said everyone a good bye,
I was going to die.
I had no other choice.
Because I was not allowed to make noise!
That girl had nothing but clear skies,
Not even a tear but lonely eyes.
She could have been saved,
If she was not slaved,
But she was put in a cage,
Otherwise she would have written her story on a longer page.
