I Was Earth

I Was Earth

I was Beauteous, beauteous as hell,

An unloosen realm to the peregrine souls,

Everything I was, to the less evolved Humans,

The remembrance of Elephant, I had, but,

With the spear of progress, They tamed me,

A deep-seated Oak, I was, nevertheless,

With the axe of greed, They cut me down,

A Trojan Horse that orbed the Sun, I was, but,

With the chains of science, They bound me,

The Ocean that served the fishermen ashore, I was,

But with the vessels of weapon and barren, They raped me,

An unowned estate I was, to the less evolved kin,

A lion I was, to Them and the only creature They feared,

For They knew, the king of timberland I was, but,

With the bars of iron and fire, They caged me,

Since, the Hearts of all and Sundry, Evolution changes,

For all the inhumaneness, They shall, for a lifetime, pay,

For the dethawing of the realm of Aurora, for the murders,

Of the fragile souls in the name of debt, for their treacherousness,

Nevertheless, to whom, the trillions of debt, they owe?

To me! But, the irrevocable lot, nigh filthy lucre can indemnify,

Since, a sight envied by the Heaven, I was; I was Earth.
