I'll Quit When I Am Dead

A friend of mine confronted me and this is what I said

Nothing going to stop me now, I'll quit when I am dead

Too much of life still out there, out there for me to find

Not going to have a change of heart or ever change my mind

I'm in it for the long run, I've got no plans to stop

It might take more than a little while, but I will reach the top

I had my share of setbacks, more than I can measure

I've found the correct map to lead me to the treasure

I'll keep on forging forward and never look behind

Life can be a nasty mess, at times it's so unkind

As long as God is on my side I know I'll be all right

Won't always have to struggle to get from wrong to right

This time I'll be different, I'll go in quite prepared

I'm not afraid of dying, not in the least bit scared

Next time you confront me, remember what I said

Nothing is going to stop me now, I'll quit when I am dead
