I Hope You Know What It Means
I Hope You Know What It Means

I hope it's alright to see you cry sometimes and not interrupt.
I hope you know,
When those tears roll down your cheeks
They are your own
Tightly hugging onto you
While carrying this heavyweight.
With each drop
Holding onto memory for awhile.
You see, crying doesn't make you forget
But it does lessen this pain a bit,
It does give you time to sit still and breathe.
You would get it
If you have actually thought about the pain
It's everywhere.
Especially when you love someone.
Almost as if, to love is to feel pain
And when you realize it
You already would have cried a million times before.
So, I hope it's alright to see you cry sometimes and not interrupt.
Because no matter, how much I love you
There are things in which I can't help
And that is when I cry the most
And as they roll down my cheeks in despair
I hope you know what it means to cry
I hope you see those tears the way I do.
