I long for Him, for long!

I sweat in the awe of His grace,

I long for Him to embrace!

I breathe the beloved's name,

My notes fall dead,

With His call heard!

His mercy hearkens me,

My soul is frozen in Him!

I laugh at the time's mirage,

I laugh at the days and stars,

For they try at me with their charm,

I have the light of His love in my arm!

His name is effacing me!

My mortal flesh is drenched in Him

I have no need to stay!

His mercy hath come upon me,

Not like the dawn of the heavens!
