I Am A Strong Independent Woman

I am a strong independent woman.

I can take the trash out by myself. 

I can pay my rent.

I can drive myself to work.

I can pay for my education. 

I need no man to help me live my life. 

I am me who fails but gets up and tries again. 

I cry but wipe out the kohl by myself from soggy eyes. 

I fall, but just to know the importance of rising.

I can wear Indian or western or anything for that matter and still walk confidently. 

You can’t harass, tease or rape me because of my guts. 

Trust me, I work harder each day to receive three thousand less than you. 

I don't deserve your pity, judgments or sly comments. 

I can be me and still achieve more than you. 

So don’t blame me for your wrongdoings, failures or vicious nature. 

You raped me because you wanted to, not because I did something.

Own up to something at least. 

It's not me, it's you. 

You being the society.

Push my buttons once more and I will let you know what I am really capable of.
