Hunger
Hunger
Skipped childhood and rough living,
Life has been all about getting and only giving.
Forced to look after my family, I work tirelessly all day,
Food to kill hunger pangs is what I pray.
Skin bronzed and tortured by the sun,
Stomach stays empty from morning till dawn.
We unite to share for what I earned and if my family found anything,
Gather every evening to silence the stomach rumbling
Slaves to life not to the human,
The powerlessness I feel since I don't get help from anyone.
Fear, for now, fear for the future,
Lack of shelter and food; I yearn to get rid of this torture.
