Hung Up On You
Hung Up On You
I know I am strong,
But my heart becomes weak when it comes to you.
I feel that with you, it belongs,
Until you shatter it in two.
I have the heart of a phoenix,
It often dies.
But then you see it rise,
Only to love you again when you need it.
All I do is cry,
Behind the smile I fake.
Remembering our last goodbye,
I am overwhelmed by a deadly ache.
You can never understand,
What you have put me through.
I cannot seem to break off the strands,
Connecting me to you.
All the tears that I wasted on us,
Could fill up a thousand oceans.
You slowly burned down my walls,
Until I gave you my all.
Then you stabbed me straight in the heart,
While painfully tearing me apart.
But despite all that,
I would still take you back.
Because no matter how hard I try not to,
I still am hung up on you.
