A boy was born at the end of July

to the famous Lily and James potter

Who were destined to die

He was the chosen one, Harry potter

At his birth a prophecy was made

That he will have the power to 

vanquish he who must not be named

Also called the dark lord, heartless and cruel

As he began to grow in the Dursley household

On July 31, when harry was of 11 years

His letter from Hogwarts came

Along with Hagrid, a giant and groundskeeper

So he climbed aboard Hogwarts express

And got to know the smart Hermione granger

and also Ron Weasley, who is always distressed

little did he know that they would become friends forever

So then he began his journey of seven years 

Of fighting the dark lord over and over
