Handful Of Happiness

Handful Of Happiness

1 min
412

Amidst the tall building which is still not complete

She stands all alone brave and bold

Her bare feet covered with sand and soil

Her tender hands still not steady to hold

Yet with pride she clutches a plate

Nearly empty and warped with a few crumbs of dry food

Happily she feeds herself like a sumptuous meal

Her expression is enough to replace our soul’s meal

Slowly she walks around the deserted structure

Cleaning her hands in her half torn trailing gown

Searching for a true friend to continue her solo long day

With Glittery eyes she stares at every passerby

Alas my soul has become sad and irrepressible

I gifted her with a small basket of eatables

At first she hesitates later she accepts unhurriedly

Overwhelming smile she radiates with complete peace within

I shook her fragile hand with gratitude for accepting my small gift of happiness
