shared you with your ocean;

Kept it to myself,

explored you from a distance.

I should have just

stood on the shore;

Let you come, let you go,

touch me in your own ways 

and retreat to explore...

and not tried to be

a safer pond 

with our reflections.

When my land was adorned 

like a November bride,

waiting for her farewell 

and bittersweet goodbyes,

taken a dip alone.

dropped a message in a bottle

without an anchor to hold.
