Friends Forever

Our coming together was perhaps God’s doing with reason.

So perfectly timed, it couldn’t have been otherwise.

To see me through difficult times,

The emotional backing and support you provided:

Your thoughtfulness and care; and the companionship you extended.

The purpose of the moment having been met, my time is up.

And however untimely and undeserved it may seem,

Your path cannot follow mine, nor mine yours;

For God set it up this way with reason, and not for lifelong:

So our separate ways we must tread.

A test of faith once more, for me:

But this time cherishing your friendship,

Its lasting memories and effects;

Hopeful that someday,

Our paths will cross once again, with reason.

Learning and sharing together, with laughter and smiles engulfing us.
