For Thy Love

For Thy Love

Oh Maximilian, my love, where are thou?

Over yonder, through bush and brail, for thee I seek,

How I fascinate over thy smile, thy vows;

My heart skip a beat in glee, glowing red, a fair maiden's cheek.

Thy eyes are as bright as the stars that guild the sailors at night,

Thy voice is as sweet as the morning lark to the shepherds ear.

For thou my love I shall the fiercest battles fight;

For thou my love, for thou, harm and sorrow shall not draw near.

Thy oaths of love rained down on me like hail,

But when that hail felt some warmth from fair charlotte;

Thy protestations faded, all I did to entice thou, miserably failed,

Now, thou are infatuated with her eyes, to redeem thee, please, its not too late.

How I wish, love was governed not by looks but by reason,

Even so, how I wish attributes and appearance were contagious;

I would do all, my eyes to catch her eyes, radiant as the sun,

i would do all in all, my tongue to catch her tongue's sweet melody, heavenly gay.

Yet thou does not notice me, thou disdains me,

Thou belong with me, yet i don't belong to thee.

Be that as it may, I would rather die than let thou go;

Until thou find me once again, into my arms, my love, Maximilian.
