Go away you advertisements,

You show perfectly sculpted bodies, flawless skin,

And perfect voluptuous hair as the ideal body.

Who gave you the authority to call everything else ugly?

My thighs have stretch marks, etched by my childhood,

I store my memories in those lines.

My hair isn't perfect, I lose one and many on every cross road

As an evidence that I have been to places;

I let a part of me grow at unknown places and nurture itself with the earth, air and water there,

My skin isn't flawless because my mother's skin isn't,

Yet I love her with my life and I would be grateful

That I own a part of her as legacy.

I don't have a perfect waistline, because I was born different and unique,

And every day I eat, breath, to preserve my uniqueness.

I have crooked toenails, I love them because they make me

feel the touch of soil, beach sand, warmth of the sea;

They carry me to places I wanted to be,

They give me the privilege to be able to run like a wildfire

Touching trees, passing grasses tips.

My teeth aren't in perfect shape like you show them on toothpaste ads,

But they function exactly the same,

They do not make me feel under confident,

They let me laugh my heart out and smile

From ear to ear, and they make me look beautiful.

My body is my home, I live and grow here.

If my home isn't perfect or my friend's,

Then there is no perfect home at all.

With time we realise that it's our own however it is.

I love it, I live in it, and I breathe with a heart full of positivity to keep it happy.

We are flawsome, why hate it when we can embrace it!
