Fear
Fear
The howling of winds outside,
The dark, ominous, moonless night,
The silence spreading its arms wide,
Welcomed the ghost, my fright.
Fear, it knew no time and place,
Appear it would for all to see,
Would show it’s ugly face,
Trapping me, not letting me be free.
Away from it, I kept running
But It resided deep within me,
It was of my own making,
To destroy it, it had to be me.
I looked around for an answer,
Not realizing, it again dwelt in me,
Face it, you need to be braver,
Came a voice from within me.
Love yourself fiercely and truly
Cause that is the power you need,
To chase fear away boldly,
And stand for life instead.
